Atlanta drinks like a BeltLine city with a whiskey still around the corner. The local pour is sangria or a $5 wine on the Eastside, a $6 margarita in Virginia-Highland, and Georgia whiskey when the night turns serious. Sangria is the Eastside house wine

Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park sit on the Eastside BeltLine, and their Spanish rooms pour accordingly. Buena Vida Tapas Bar on the BeltLine at 385 N. Angier Ave NE posts Happy Hour $5 specials Monday–Friday 4pm to 6pm, plus Candlelight Wednesdays 6:30–9:30pm with 50% off all bottles of wine. Over on the square, The Iberian Pig in Decatur posts Jamón Happy Hour Monday–Friday 5 PM to 6 PM with charcuterie and tapas specials and $5 sangria, red and white wine. Two rooms, one rule: the $5 glass is the order.

Margarita Mondays in Virginia-Highland

Bar.Bacoa on Virginia Avenue posts $6 House Margaritas every Monday from 4 PM–10 PM, half-price tacos all night Tuesdays 4 PM–10 PM, and $30 select bottles of wine Wednesdays 4 PM–10 PM. That Monday $6 line is the week's best cheap margarita on the north side. Inman Park answers with the cocktail-bar version: Little Spirit on N Highland posts a till-8PM block with all hotdogs $10, Espresso Martini $10, 50/50 $10, Vesper $10, Dirty $10, Prosecco $8, and Bibo Pilsner $4.

Georgia whiskey is the nightcap

ASW Distillery calls itself Atlanta's hometown whiskey distillery, distilling bourbon, rye, and malt whiskies on Scottish-style double copper pot stills at 199 Armour Drive. Its tasting rooms run tours and tastings across three Atlanta locations. The move: sangria and tapas at 5, dinner elsewhere, whiskey after. How to drink it like a local

  • Weekday 4–6: $5 specials at Buena Vida or the $5 sangria hour at the Iberian Pig (Mon–Fri 5–6).
  • Monday: $6 house margaritas at Bar.Bacoa, 4–10.
  • Nightcap: Georgia whiskey at an ASW tasting room; martinis till 8 at Little Spirit first.
